The communications associate will have a key role in the ICCT's publications program, which is at the core of the organization's mission. Working with researchers and freelance editors and designers, he or she will coordinate the editorial workflow for research papers and related policy briefings, blogs, fact sheets, presentations. In collaboration with other members of the communications team and with the program staff, he or she will help plan and carry out publicity and outreach activities, edit the website, curate social media channels, and develop online content to disseminate ICCT's technical research and policy analyses to a diverse international audience.
- Superior research, writing, and editing skills
- Demonstrated interest in environmental policy questions broadly defined; familiarity with climate issues and transportation-related policy a plus
- Experience with web applications and basic HTML/CSS; experience with scripting and knowledge of a content-management system such as Drupal or Wordpress a plus
- Well-organized; able to manage converging deadlines and juggle competing priorities with aplomb
- 3–5 years experience
