Webinar

How clean are electric cars in Europe today?

This session presented a new ICCT publication on the life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions of passenger cars in Europe. Researchers Marta Negri and Georg Bieker provided an overview of the study’s scope and methodology, highlighting how recent developments in Europe’s electricity mix and vehicle technologies shape the climate performance of different powertrains.

Presentation slides are available here.

The discussion situated the findings within the ICCT’s ongoing analysis of the EU automotive sector’s pathway to zero emissions. This webinar offered context for policymakers, stakeholders, and researchers interested in the role of battery electric vehicles in achieving Europe’s climate goals.
