A comparison of the life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions of European heavy-duty vehicles and fuels
Adrian O’Connell is a Researcher on the Fuels team, based in the ICCT’s Berlin office. He works on the greenhouse gas impacts of various fuel and energy pathways for heavy-duty transport to help lower carbon emissions in the sector. Before joining the ICCT, Adrian worked for the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre in Italy, working on European renewable energy policies. Adrian has experience as a technical expert for the European Biodiesel Board, a European Commission representative in the IEA’s Bioenergy Task 39, an observer in CEN’s diesel and biodiesel fuel standardization groups, and as a member of the Board of Ireland’s first large-scale, waste-based biodiesel plant. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Limerick (Ireland).
