As the world’s leading shipbuilder, China produced 44% of the global gross tonnage in 2021, up from around 26% in 2014. This great ICCT visual showed how China’s massive shipbuilding capacity will be crucial for scaling up zero-emission vessel production at the pace and volume needed for the transition.
