Webinar
Smart charging for Europe: How EVs can save money for power grids
Smart charging optimizes EV charging by adjusting timing and power based on grid demand, electricity prices, and renewable energy availability. By reducing costs, easing grid strain, and improving energy efficiency, it can help Europe lower power grid costs while supporting vehicle electrification. This webinar will present the results of a new study on the benefits of smart EV charging for power grids, focusing on the French region of Essonne, south of Paris. With its mix of urban and rural infrastructure, Essonne serves as a model for many European grids.
Researchers Julia Hildermeier (Regulatory Assistance Project), Marie Rajon Bernard (International Council on Clean Transportation), and Marin Dilé (Artelys) will present the study’s findings and discuss their implications for transport and energy sector policies. The session will conclude with a Q&A, where participants can engage with the experts.
