Simulación de la operación de un bus eléctrico de 18 metros en rutas de Santiago de Chile
Latin America
Aside from Brazil and Mexico, countries in Latin America offer valuable insights into effective policymaking for smaller economies. Chile, for example, is one of a handful of nations showing the effectiveness of “feebate” programs, which reduce emissions by levying fees on inefficient technology and paying rebates for efficient vehicles. In Argentina, Chile, and Colombia, ICCT research provides essential technical foundations for development of emissions and efficiency standards, incentives for ultra-clean buses, market-based approaches such as green freight programs, and innovative fiscal policies.
