Electric vehicle charging infrastructure around the world

Electric vehicle charging infrastructure is a key requirement for the transition to electric mobility. Governments, private companies, utilities, and automakers are investing heavily in charging infrastructure and are focused on maximizing their investment. However, there are a number of open questions regarding the amount, type, and location of charging stations to best support electric vehicles. Furthermore, the link between charging infrastructure availability and electric vehicle uptake is complex. As the electric vehicle market continues to grow, it will be important to establish a network of charging infrastructure to fit the needs of each region and allow convenient charging for all drivers.

To introduce the webinar discussion, Dale Hall of the International Council on Clean Transportation will present briefly on the recent Zero-Emission Vehicle Alliance-commissioned paper Emerging best practices for electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Following the short introduction, experts from ZEV Alliance member jurisdictions involved with building, managing, or regulating charging infrastructure will discuss projects underway in their jurisdictions and issues and opportunities they have encountered. As time allows, there will be a moderated discussion and general audience questions on key charging infrastructure issues.
