The International Council on Clean Transportation’s Board welcomes Charlotte Pera, Silvio Marcacci, and Jane Akumu

(Washington, D.C.) March 26, 2024 — The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Charlotte Pera as a new Board Member and Silvio Marcacci and Jane Akumu as Board Advisors.

Charlotte Pera brings over 30 years of experience in climate change and clean energy, including significant leadership roles such as Vice President and Deputy CEO at the Bezos Earth Fund (2021-2023) and President & CEO of the ClimateWorks Foundation (2012-2021). Her expertise in advancing global climate solutions through strategic philanthropy and grantmaking makes her an invaluable asset to the ICCT Board.

As Energy Innovation’s Senior Director of Communications, Silvio Marcacci brings nearly two decades of experience in strategic communications within the clean energy and climate policy sectors. His prior roles include founding his own clean energy public relations consultancy and serving in the sustainability practice of international public relations firm Fleishman-HIlliard, highlighting his significant contributions to promoting sustainable energy solutions.

With two decades at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Jane Akumu has been instrumental in promoting sustainable transport in Africa, focusing on cleaner fuels and emerging transport technologies. Her previous work with the Kenyan government and dedication to environmental sustainability strongly position her as a key advisor to the ICCT.
