Life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions of combustion engine and electric passenger cars in Europe
This webinar will review our new life-cycle assessment (LCA) of the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of today’s and future passenger cars in Europe. It compares gasoline, diesel, and natural gas internal combustion engine vehicles (ICEVs), including hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) with plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), battery electric vehicles (BEVs), and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs). Thereby, it considers a variety of fuel types and power sources including biofuels, e-fuels, various hydrogen pathways, and electricity. The findings for Europe are compared to passenger cars in China, India, and the United States. Taken together, these four markets are home to the majority of the global new passenger car sales and reflect much of the variety in the global vehicle market.
