Life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions of U.S. sedans and SUVs with different powertrains and fuel sources
Building on a previous ICCT study, this work estimates that for sedans and SUVs in the United States, model year 2024 and projected model year 2030 battery electric vehicles have substantially lower life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions than internal combustion engine vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles, and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.
Electric vehicles market monitor for light-duty vehicles: China, Europe, United States, and India, 2023
Global electric vehicle (EV) sales reached over 13 million units in 2023, accounting for more than 15% of new light-duty vehicles (LDVs) sold worldwide. China, Europe, the United States, and India collectively represent around 88% of EVs sold globally.

Assessing the role of biomass-based diesel in U.S. rail decarbonization strategy
Although the DOE’s National Blueprint for Transport Decarbonization identifies liquid biofuels as a long-term decarbonization strategy for rail, long-haul trucks, aviation, and marine, the sustainable supply of biomass feedstocks is limited and might not be enough to meet projected demand across multiple transport modes.
