Helmer Acevedo is a Research Consultant at ICCT, supporting the work of the Heavy-Duty Vehicles Program in Latin America. Helmer has experience in emission factors, on-road testing, and energy efficiency of HDVs. Before joining the ICCT, he gained experience as a professor at the National University of Colombia, senior consultant at GIZ (Transfer Program), and has also done consulting for several government institutions, private companies, and international agencies in Colombia and other Latin America countries. Helmer holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota (USA), an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia), and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad de América (Colombia).
