Recommendations for the review of the heavy-duty CO2 standards in Europe

Thursday, April 14, 2022
3 pm–3:30 pm CEST

The European Union is legally obliged to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, bound by the European Climate Law. Heavy-duty vehicles are the second highest emitting group in the transport sector, and the currently adopted CO2 emission standards fail to bring about the necessary emission reductions required. The Commission will review these standards this year in order to align truck and bus emissions with climate neutrality.

This webinar will review new research exploring how the heavy-duty sector can achieve a 98% reduction in emissions by 2050 relative to 2019. In addition, the researchers will provide specific recommendations for the upcoming review of the CO2 standards to ensure a sufficient reduction of emissions from the sector.
