Andy Navarrete is a Researcher on the Fuels team and is based in the San Francisco office. His work focuses on exploring how policy can enable the replacement of fossil fuels with sustainable alternatives in difficult to decarbonize transportation sectors. Prior to joining the ICCT, Andy was a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Southern California where he worked on a Department of Energy funded project testing the feasibility of open-ocean seaweed cultivation for biofuel production. He holds a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology from UCLA.
