Daniel Sitompul
Associate Researcher
Daniel works with the ICCT Aviation Team, focusing on assessing emissions and contrail impacts from business jets. Prior to joining ICCT, he spent a year as a researcher at UC Berkeley’s Renewable and Appropriate Energy Laboratory (RAEL), where he developed machine learning models to estimate generator emissions in healthcare facilities across the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He also brings three years of experience as a Project Manager at Telkom Indonesia, leading cross-functional technology initiatives. Daniel is currently pursuing a Master’s in Development Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, where he has conducted research on the intersection of climate change and nutrition security in the DRC. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Bandung Institute of Technology, where he led a research project on using drones to measure runway edge lighting.
