How has the Renewable Fuel Standard impacted food and feed prices?

The Renewable Fuel Standard, or RFS, has created a market for biofuels which are often sourced from food-based feedstocks like corn and soybean. Research has found that expanded biofuel production has raised the prices of these commodity crops, generating additional profits for crop farmers. But these benefits don’t apply to the farming industry as a whole.
