Brazil
Brazil is one of the largest vehicle markets in the world and an important player in the global biofuels industry. With an energy matrix characterized by a high share of renewable sources, the country faces the challenge of reducing dependence on fossil fuels in key sectors, especially transport. The ICCT collaborates with decision makers to provide technical support in mitigating vehicle emissions, through improving fuel quality, engine energy efficiency and reducing local pollutants, promoting policies that enable low or zero emission technologies in the road, maritime, and aviation sectors.
