Light vehicles

Passenger cars, light trucks and vans, motorcycles, scooters, and other two- and three-wheeled vehicles account for about a third of global oil demand and produce about half of all transportation-related greenhouse gas emissions. Regulations have already resulted in dramatically reduced emissions from conventional vehicles, and more-stringent standards can continue to do so. ICCT research supports effective design of standards for emissions and fuel efficiency as well as fiscal incentives for the long-term transition to zero-emission vehicles.
